Shares of Ramco Systems Ltd, a global enterprise software business that provides next-generation SaaS-enabled platforms and products, rose over 10% on 10 March after the company was selected to power the digital basis of its new Defence MRO facility for the Indian Air Force.
According to the most recent stock exchange filings, Ramco Systems Limited has announced that it will integrate its next-generation Aviation Software at the future Defence MRO facility of Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), the TATA Group’s aerospace and defence branch. The new facility will specialise in the maintenance of Lockheed Martin’s C130J Super Hercules aircraft operated by the Indian Air Force (IAF), as part of TASL’s aim to create a more technology-driven MRO ecosystem.
As part of this project, Ramco will deploy its integrated Aviation MRO platform across TASL’s operations, covering a wide range of capabilities such as contract and quote management, maintenance planning, hangar and component maintenance, supply chain management, engineering and quality, and customer billing.
Furthermore, Ramco’s digital technologies, such as mobile applications, e-publications, digital task cards, and resource planning systems, will help operational teams better access and manage data across departments.
The use of Ramco’s platform is consistent with TASL’s objective to create a digitally integrated MRO environment. The organisation plans to deploy end-to-end digital processing of maintenance operations, aided by mobile applications and integrated documentation systems from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The new platform will also be connected with TASL’s current ERP system to provide better operational coordination.
With this implementation, TASL will use a single digital platform for better operational visibility and coordination. The technology is projected to assist in streamlining maintenance operations, enhancing labour and resource utilisation, and enabling more efficient maintenance activity execution over time.
Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Sons, is a major private sector player in India’s aerospace and defence industries. TASL, the Tata Group’s strategic aerospace and military business, provides integrated solutions in Aerostructures & Aeroengines, military & Security, Unmanned Aerial Systems, Radar & Tactical Systems, Command & Control, and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO).
At 3:30 pm, the shares of Ramco Systems closed 6.49% higher at Rs 429 on NSE.
